  1. Heat the water on the stove. Turn off the heat before it starts simmering, set aside.
  2. Slice the onions thinly with a knife, or a mandoline. Transfer the sliced onions to a large (750 ml) glass jar.
  3. Add the salt, sugar and vinegar. Pour in the warm water. Close the lid and shake it until the sugar and salt dissolve.
  4. Transfer the jar to your fridge. You can try them after just 30 minutes, Let them marinate overnight for best results.
